Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you.
Fiona's Journal
Harry is 12 years old today! We piled his presents and
cards on the campsite picnic table and they made a satisfactory
heap although a lot of them are consumable or disposable
in some way as we cannot afford to carry more stuff
around the world once we leave the North Americam continent.
Harry allowed George to assist with the unwrapping
and seemed genuinely happy with his haul anyway. Having
cleared the debris we then set off for Banff. Here we
had a lovely Birthday lunch, sitting out on the restaurant
verandah in the middle of this attractive town and surrounded
by magnificent snow capped mountains. George was in
a piss about something and insisted on sitting on a
different table to the rest of us and eating alone -
until the restaurant started to get really busy and
they needed the extra table. He rejoined us perfectly
amicably when the waitress asked him too.
In the afternoon we went to the cinema and watched
Hancock starring Will Smith which the boys
really enjoyed and so did I as long as didn't try to
make any sense or logic out of it. This was followed
by a million calorie dessert each at Dairy Queen in
lieu of a birthday cake and then back to join Sarah
and the dogs at the RV site on the edge of town.
Harry had an H-shaped candle to blow out, in his burger
at supper and we stuck up all his Birthday cards in
the rear window of the RV for other drivers to admire
tomorrow.
Arthur's Log:
Harry was a little short this birthday but he
got a 300 quid air rifle last year so i guess it evens
out.
We saw "Hancock" in town and, like all Will
Smith movies I liked it. I dont see how he manages to
get so many almost unforgetable movies so fast. I like
"I Robot" and everyone says "I am Legend"
is good. Maybe there is more than one of him!
George's Musings
I thought it was funny that he got a whole box of Ritz
- and I hope he enjoys his new parents. Arthur gave
him an ice cube.
